Job billing policies
Assign the responsible party independently for each JOB DESCRIPTION.
One job. One clear billing policy.
Jobs marked 100% LST are fully absorbed by your company. 100% Client + Fee jobs charge the full material cost plus Handling Fee. CAP + Fee jobs use the selected CAP method and Handling Fee calculation basis. Handling Fee limits apply per billing unit in both customer-billed policies. Aggregated Part Number groups are kept separate by policy.

Trace every euro to a material issue.
Detailed costs are allocated under the currently selected CAP model. Under the aggregated method, each grouped CAP exposure and customer charge are distributed proportionally back to their original issue lines, keeping total allocation reconciled.
Methodology & audit rules
Explicit treatment of costs, groupings and non-standard data.
Single Piece
Each unit of quantity (K) receives its own CAP. Unit cost comes from column M; quantities can be fractional for non-EA units of measure.
Customer = (Qty × M) − LST
Line Item
One CAP is applied per original issue line, regardless of quantity. Material cost is sourced from column N.
Customer = N − LST
Aggregated Part Number
Combine the same Part Number within the same Parent JCN, after separating non-CAP job policies. Apply one CAP to the combined eligible cost.
LST group = min(Group, CAP)
Column mapping
Workbook import uses the source data's physical column positions. No external workbook service, account or API is required.
Handling Fee and policy precedence
- 100% LST — full material cost to LST; zero customer material charge; no Handling Fee.
- 100% Client + Fee — full material cost charged to the customer, plus Handling Fee on the full material value (CAP does not apply). The calculation-basis selector does not change this fee base.
- CAP + Fee — LST absorbs up to CAP per billing unit. Under Above CAP only, fee = customer material excess × fee %. Under Full cost, fee = CAP-eligible material cost × fee %, including items that do not exceed CAP.
- Min / Max Handling Fee (EUR) — minimum and optional maximum apply independently to each fee-bearing billing unit: one piece, one issue line or one Parent JCN + Part Number group. Calculated fee = min(max(fee basis × rate, minimum), maximum). Blank Max Fee means unlimited; Max Fee = 0 disables the charge. If minimum exceeds maximum, maximum prevails. The aggregated group fee is distributed proportionally across its issue lines.
- Min Fee at Zero Base / 0% Rate — defaults to No: no Handling Fee is charged when the fee base is zero or the rate is 0%. Choose Yes to apply the configured minimum even in those cases; Max Handling Fee remains the upper bound. This applies to both 100% Client + Fee and CAP + Fee items, but never to 100% LST items.
- Aggregated Part Number grouping separates CAP + Fee and 100% Client + Fee issue lines, even when they share the same Part Number and Parent JCN. CAP is applied only to CAP + Fee groups; 100% Client + Fee groups receive one Handling Fee calculation and Min/Max limit per group. 100% LST lines receive no fee. Group fees are distributed across their source lines for audit.
- Cost amounts remain unrounded during calculation; display is rounded to 2 decimal places. CSV allocation exports retain 8 decimal places to allow cost reconciliation across large datasets.
- Negative costs or non-positive quantities are exceptional transactions. CAP + Fee exceptions are allocated to LST as before. Under 100% Client + Fee, the signed material cost remains on the customer side, with no Handling Fee on invalid or negative transactions. Review these rows before using the analysis commercially.
- For Single Piece, the cost basis is M × K. For Line and Aggregated Part Number, it is N. Discrepancies between M × K and N are reported in the audit ribbon.
- Filters define the analysis scope before calculating CAP groups. When using partial datasets, results are for the filtered scope and should not be treated as a complete check invoice unless all its issues are included.
Data processing and scalability
The Excel workbook is unpacked and parsed locally in a Web Worker, using streamed worksheet XML to avoid creating a giant DOM or millions of unnecessary spreadsheet objects. Only the thirteen required source fields plus original worksheet row numbers are retained. Charts use aggregated data and the issue table is paginated (60 rows per page). The engine is engineered for datasets on the order of 250,000 issue records, although actual import speed and available memory depend on the workstation and workbook size.
Privacy: all workbook processing takes place in your browser. No source records are uploaded to a server. Imported XLSX files are stored locally in IndexedDB (subject to your browser’s storage settings) and restored automatically when you reopen this application in the same browser/profile and local file location. Clear Data removes the stored workbook without changing billing settings. Save Settings exports a separate JSON file; Billing Preparation exports an auditable Excel (XLSX) or CSV file, including JCN and TRN.
